Alexander McCall Smith

Alexander McCall Smith is a Scottish author and former Professor of Medical Law at the University of Edinburgh. Born and raised in Southern Rhodesia, he served on various British and international committees regarding bioethics before achieving global recognition as a fiction writer. He is best known as the creator of The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, which has been translated into 46 languages.
