Alfred Lord Tennyson

Alfred Tennyson was an English poet who served as Poet Laureate during the reign of Queen Victoria. After receiving the Chancellor's Gold Medal at Cambridge for his poem Timbuktu, he published his first solo collection in 1830. His early work, characterized by medievalism and vivid imagery, became a significant influence on the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and earned him recognition from prominent writers of his time.
