August Wilson
August Wilson (1945–2005) was an American playwright celebrated for his ten-part Pittsburgh Cycle, which chronicles the African-American experience throughout the 20th century. His notable works include Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Joe Turner's Come and Gone, and the Pulitzer Prize-winning plays Fences and The Piano Lesson. In 2006, he was posthumously inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame.
