Augustine of Hippo

Augustine of Hippo was a Christian theologian and philosopher born in Thagaste, North Africa. As the Bishop of Hippo Regius, he became one of the most influential figures in Western philosophy and a key Church Father of the Latin Church. His life included periods as a teacher of rhetoric in Carthage and Rome, and he is recognized for his extensive contributions as a writer, preacher, and autobiographer during the Patristic Period.
