Charles Austin Beard

Charles Austin Beard was an American historian and professor at Columbia University who wrote extensively on history and political science during the first half of the 20th century. He is best known for his 1913 work, An Economic Interpretation of the Constitution of the United States, which argued that the Founding Fathers were driven by economic interests rather than philosophical principles. His controversial scholarship sparked a significant reinterpretation of early American history.
