David Yaffe

David Yaffe (1973–2024) was an American academic and music critic who served as a professor of humanities at Syracuse University. A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and the CUNY Graduate Center, he contributed extensive critical writing to publications including The New York Times, The Paris Review, and The Village Voice. Throughout his career, he held various fellowships and faculty positions, focusing his work on the intersection of humanities and music criticism.
