Elizabeth Bishop

Elizabeth Bishop was an American poet and short-story writer who also practiced as a painter. Her work is recognized for its careful attention to detail, tranquil observation, and craft-like accuracy. Throughout her career, she served as Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress and received the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry, the National Book Award, and the Neustadt International Prize for Literature.
