Emile Bernard

Émile Bernard was a French Post-Impressionist painter and writer associated with the Cloisonnism and Synthetism movements. Active primarily between 1886 and 1897, he maintained significant artistic friendships with figures including Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, and Paul Cézanne. Beyond his visual art, he produced a body of literary work that includes plays, poetry, and art criticism documenting the development of modern art.
