Enid Mary Blyton was a prolific British children's writer whose works have been international best-sellers since the 1930s. With over 600 million copies sold and translations in ninety languages, she is recognized as one of the most successful authors of the twentieth century. She wrote extensively on topics ranging from natural history and education to mystery and fantasy, creating popular series such as The Famous Five, Noddy, and The Secret Seven.
