Felix Gonzalez-Torres

Félix González-Torres was a Cuban-born American visual and conceptual artist based in New York City. His practice utilized a minimalist vocabulary, often incorporating everyday materials like light bulbs, paper stacks, and candy to explore themes of sexuality and social stigma. Active throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he made significant contributions to conceptual art before his death in 1996.
