Hans Morgenthau

Hans Joachim Morgenthau (1904–1980) was a prominent figure in the study of international relations and a leading voice in the realism tradition. His seminal work, Politics Among Nations, was first published in 1948 and became a widely adopted university textbook. Through his writing, Morgenthau explored the centrality of power and the national interest, while examining how these concepts are constrained by ethics, norms, and international law.
