Iris Murdoch

Iris Murdoch was an Irish-born British philosopher and novelist known for her explorations of morality, sexual relationships, and the unconscious. Her debut novel, Under the Net, was recognized as one of the best English-language novels of the 20th century, and her 1978 work, The Sea, The Sea, received the Booker Prize. In 1987, she was appointed a Dame for her contributions to literature.
