Isaac Newton
Sir Isaac Newton was an English polymath whose work served as a cornerstone of the Scientific Revolution and the Enlightenment. A mathematician, physicist, and astronomer, he authored the influential Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica in 1687, which established the foundations of classical mechanics. Beyond his contributions to optics and the development of infinitesimal calculus, Newton played a critical role in refining the scientific method and shaping modern science.
