James Fenimore Cooper

James Fenimore Cooper was an American writer active during the first half of the 19th century. Known for his historical romances featuring colonial and indigenous characters, he spent much of his life in Cooperstown, New York. He attended Yale University for three years and was a member of the Linonian Society before his death in 1851.
