Jo Handelsman

Jo Emily Handelsman is a microbiologist and the Director of the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She has served as a Vilas Research Professor and as the Associate Director for Science at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. In addition to her research, she has acted as editor-in-chief of the journal DNA and Cell Biology and authored several books on scientific education, including Scientific Teaching.
