John Marshall

John Marshall was an American statesman and jurist from the Commonwealth of Virginia who served as a leader of the Federalist Party. He held the position of Chief Justice of the United States from 1801 until 1835, significantly shaping American constitutional law. Additionally, he served in the United States House of Representatives and as Secretary of State under President John Adams.
