Kazuo Ohno

Kazuo Ohno (1906–2010) was a prominent Japanese dancer and a foundational figure in the development of the Butoh dance form. As both a performer and educator, he authored several works on the subject, including The Palace Soars through the Sky, Dessin, and Words of Workshop. His writings, notably those compiled in Kazuo Ohno's World: From Without & Within, serve as essential texts for understanding his philosophy and approach to choreography.
