Kehinde Wiley

Kehinde Wiley is an American portrait painter based in New York City, recognized for his naturalistic depictions of Black subjects that reference Old Master paintings. His work explores the image and status of young African-American men in contemporary culture. In 2017, he was commissioned to paint the official portrait of former U.S. President Barack Obama for the National Portrait Gallery.
