Mark Elvin

John Mark Dutton Elvin (1938–2023) was an English and Australian academic and sinologist. He served as a professor emeritus of Chinese history at the Australian National University and was an emeritus fellow of St Antony's College, Oxford. His scholarly work focused primarily on the late imperial period of Chinese history.
