Mary Cassatt

Mary Stevenson Cassatt was an American painter and printmaker who spent much of her adult life in France. She became a key figure in the Impressionist movement, where she befriended Edgar Degas and exhibited her work alongside his. Her artistic practice frequently focused on the social and private lives of women, with a particular emphasis on the intimate bonds between mothers and children.
