Philip W. Jackson

Philip Wesley Jackson was an American pedagogue and professor emeritus at the University of Chicago. Throughout his career, he served as president of both the American Educational Research Association and the John Dewey Society. He is widely recognized for coining the term hidden curriculum in his 1968 book, Life in Classrooms, where he explored how students navigate the institutional expectations of the school environment.
