Ruth Benedict
Ruth Benedict (1887–1948) was an American anthropologist known for her influential theories on culture and personality. A graduate of Vassar College, she studied under Franz Boas at Columbia University, where she later taught. Beyond her academic contributions in social science, Benedict also wrote poetry under the pseudonym Anne Singleton until the early 1930s.
