Sally M. Promey
Sally M. Promey is an American art historian born in 1957. She has served on the faculty at Northwestern University, the University of Maryland, and Yale Divinity School, where she is the Caroline Washburn Professor of Religion and Visual Culture. A Guggenheim Fellow and member of the American Antiquarian Society, she specializes in the intersection of American religion and art, authoring works such as Spiritual Spectacles and Painting Religion in Public.
