Wallace Fowlie

Wallace Fowlie (1908–1998) was an American writer, translator, and professor of literature. He earned his degrees from Harvard University and held teaching positions at Bennington College, the University of Chicago, and Yale University. From 1964 until his retirement, he served as the James B. Duke Professor of French Literature at Duke University, where he focused on undergraduate instruction in French, Italian, and modernist literature.
