Founded in 1968 by poet and translator Peter Jay, Anvil Press Poetry was an independent publisher based in Greenwich, London. The press focused on contemporary British, Irish, and American poetry, alongside a diverse range of translated works. The company ceased operations in 2015, and its backlist is currently managed by Carcanet Press of Manchester.
